From turn-around to top tier for team behaviours

A client organisation had been in turn around and after a difficult time, staff numbers had been reduced to only 14. New joiners were straight in at the deep end getting to grips with the work in a fast-moving environment and rapidly re-building organisation.

We developed a 6-month team effectiveness programme for the whole organisation which, started at 14 and grew to 35 during the programme. Using the “5 Behaviours of a Cohesive Team” diagnostic and model showed the team needed to work hard on all 5 behaviours, (building trust, mastering conflict, achieving commitment, embracing accountability and focusing on results) particularly embracing accountability.

After 6 months, the progress report showed significant improvements in all 5 behaviours and that the team was at the 75th percentile on its weakest practice and 92nd percentile on its strongest practice, compared with the averages of all other teams (29,000 people) who have completed the assessment.
