From half empty to half full for this highflyer

This client was the Head of Manufacturing Function in an Aerospace Company. He is young, dynamic and seen as a high potential senior leader of the future. His objectives were to ensure that the Manufacturing Function was recognized and valued by the organization and to achieve alignment of the business leads towards the Manufacturing Strategy. He identified his areas for development as understanding his true potential, increasing his self-belief and learning to deal with his perceived barriers including perfectionism.

Over 6 months we explored how he had developed what he called a “victim mentality” due to an extremely challenging work situation in the recent past and how to get back to the “glass half full person” he had always been before. It also emerged that he tended to put senior leaders on a pedestal which was supporting his desire to also be “perfect” and never make mistakes. My client worked hard and drew on his high level of self-awareness take what we covered in the sessions and courageously apply it in his life.

At the end of our coaching together, he has received very positive feedback from his line leader and feedback from inside and outside of work about how much more positive he is. He feels the coaching has helped increase his confidence and free himself from his perfectionist tendencies enough to allow him to take more risks, make mistakes and learn from them.
